Web two myths
There are way too many theories on what web2.0 is and what it is that web2.0 is. Does it mean bright colours, funky design, Ajax!?
Ask most folks that are not sure and they'll say oh, yeah web2.0 it's Ajax basically, with gradients and large buttons, wrong!
A few things that web 2.0 isn't
- Web 2.0 is certainly not Ajax, sure commonly Ajax is used in web 2.0 applications, but Ajax is Ajax, not Web 2.0
- Flashy graphics, gradients, larger fonts again, this is not Web 2.0, it's simply a style of modern web design that is associated with the web.
Web 2.0 is all about sharing information, sharing data, communication, collaboration and easy-to-use web interfaces that allow people from all over the world to share and communicate.
Ajax
Ajax is simply a much easier and faster way to send and retrieve data, without having to load and reload static pages over and over again, and it's become a rather important part of any developers toolkit and programming skills.
