Acting Yahoo CFO Susan Decker said that Yahoo! is hoping to gain market share from Google in search.
That's a pretty bold statement, considering that Google has been the market leader years on end now, and no doubt if they see the threat from any other company they've got the money and resources to pull something spectacular out the bag to gain back what Yahoo! thinks they've taken away.
Google currently has 48% market share that's almost half the market share, and the rest of the share is split between all other search engines, Yahoo! MSN, altavista, and numerous other claiming to be "the best"
Apparently after their successful launch of Panama, which by the sounds of things is their new ad placement technology secures richer and more quality adverts? hmmmm
In my own opinion, if you take a look at the Yahoo! website, its like a portal, however if you take a look at google's website, its simple, and gives you exactly what you are looking for, which in our days is most important as society is getting more and more impatient waiting for websites to load, cause they don't have time and on top of that get totally frustrated when they cant find what they are looking for.
At the end of the day, I more admire Google's effort, as it seems everyone is not copying their style and ideas, but none the less no one has been able to top them!
